# Shooting with a Canon EOS 6D

I was asked to photograph a christening. With a Canon. Well, that was a challenge. I quickly read through the manual to understand where to find the right button — specifically how to change aperture, shooting mode, ISO,... what **didn't click** for me was changing the focus points.

Eventually I figured out how to select the **focus** point I wanted. It was far from intuitive, and after watching several how-to videos and reading the manual I don't feel like there's any easier way to do it.

It was an interesting experience. The fast lens (Sigma f1.4 HSM DG) did a great job. But I stand by my view that the **ergonomics** of **Nikon** cameras are far superior — from the way you turn them on to selecting the focus point.

# Switching systems

I've been with Nikon for about 20 years. I started with a D50 and the 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 kit lens plus a 50mm prime. Not long after came a Tamron 70-300 f/5.6-6.3. Then an upgrade to a D80. A new kit lens 18-135 f/3.5-5.6, then an 85 f/1.8 to go with the 50 f/1.8 I already had. And...
