I was selected and here's my take
In that time I managed to click through the router several times. I went through the first update and the first move. But let me start from the beginning. LuCI and SSH — the basic settings weren't enough for me, so I started using LuCI and SSH access to the router. Reconfiguring the LED colours was a must. Nothing against white, but there's nothing like knowing from the colour what's going on.
Update
After the first update a new menu option appeared — sending the owner an email notification for events like needing a restart or new features being added. I think this is an excellent idea, as is the ability to set a time for automatic restarts when required.
Move
The router went through a move as well and came through it without any problems. It handled the change of internet provider effortlessly too.
Statistics
In just under three weeks I sent 89 MB of statistical data to headquarters. That's an average of 4.5 MB per day. The daily average of received data is around 3 GB, with outgoing data in the hundreds of MB range. I'm planning a more detailed analysis of the firewall logs — I'm curious to see who's knocking on the door…
