G6 > G7

To use the latest Dexcom sensors (G7) with the Tandem X2:slim insulin pump, you need to do an update. I'll skip all the individual steps since they're well described on the website of the local distributor. Once you've got everything ready, it's time for the update.

You prepare the cable, pump, and connect it to a computer. You launch the update application and follow it step by step. But when you enter the update ID and confirm the pump reset, it fails. Once, twice, three times… Each time you hear that familiar Windows sound — USB device disconnected. The update application clearly doesn't like that and throws an error, asking you to repeat the previous step. On the fourth attempt I don't bother repeating it. I open the MacBook instead and it works on the first try.

I don't know whether it's the drivers, the application, Windows itself, or something else. I don't intend to debug it further, but it's clear that USB device management isn't exactly ideal.
