MyInvoice and MyÚčto

When I started freelancing, invoicing and bookkeeping felt like the most intimidating part of running a business. Most solutions required a monthly subscription, with the exception of Fakturovač. It served me well for quite a while, although one feature I really missed was multi-factor authentication (MFA), which was only introduced recently.

With AI rapidly becoming part of everyday software, I knew it was only a matter of time before a more modern alternative appeared. That's how I discovered MyInvoice.

MyInvoice.cz is a Czech invoicing and accounting platform built for freelancers, sole traders, and small businesses. Creating an invoice takes less than 30 seconds, incoming PDF invoices are automatically processed by AI, the built-in CRM helps you keep track of outstanding payments, and tax reports—including VAT returns and VAT Control Statements—can be generated with a single click.

Perhaps the most refreshing part is the pricing model: there are no monthly subscriptions, no artificial usage limits, and your data remains entirely under your control.

The project hasn't stood still, either. The developer expanded it into a full accounting solution called MyÚčto.

MyÚčto covers the entire accounting workflow—from your very first invoice and bank transaction all the way to your year-end tax closing. Most bookkeeping entries are created automatically based on rules you configure once. Clients also get access to a modern web portal and an AI assistant via MCP, allowing them to issue invoices either with a single click or simply by describing what they need in natural language. No more forwarding invoices back and forth by email.

Since I already host my own server, deploying MyInvoice was incredibly straightforward. It's packaged as a Docker application, and if you already own a domain, the setup only takes a few minutes.

Migrating to MyÚčto was a much more interesting experience—but that's a story for another post.
