Nikon mirrorless

I wanted to learn something new, something more spontaneous, so I signed up for the Street Photography course run by Nikon School, taught by the excellent Lucka Mojžíšová. Lucka managed to borrow the best Nikon had to offer — the Z8 mirrorless. I was shooting on a fixed 35mm f/1.8 S.

At first I had to get used to shooting mirrorless — viewfinder or screen? Where am I focusing? What if I want to focus on a specific spot? How do I change the shooting mode?

Meanwhile I was wandering through the centre of Brno hunting for the right spots. Catching the right moment, the play of shadows, those fleeting instants… I think I managed to pull off at least a few.

A few thoughts on the Nikon Z8 — the difference compared to my older Df is brutal. Autofocus in milliseconds, accurate and tracking eyes! The ability to shoot from the hip… the tilting screen adds another dimension because you can angle it in practically any direction. Just the price… but if photography is your livelihood, it's worth every crown.
