But uninstalling VMware Airwatch? That's just silly! Why do I think so?

First, let me clarify what app I actually mean — the current one is VMware Workspace ONE. On phones it's usually labelled as Hub. I'd like to use this to point out a very probably outdated and unpatched ministry environment.

The Workspace environment, as you can read in the product presentation, is used to secure and manage access. So it makes no sense to uninstall such an app from a phone when you suspect something is wrong. On the contrary, this app is meant to protect the network from unwanted influences.

The moment a user loses such a phone, it's a huge problem. You have no way to block it or remotely wipe it. That's why I don't understand the ministry's approach. The argument that this app secures access to the ministry's information system sounds fine, but Workspace ONE is MDM. The VPN client should be configured through this app.

Well, what a shame — something could have worked well, this way it won't work at all. Users are at risk again.
