The annual show held alongside the Czech Air Force Days at Leoš Janáček Airport in Mošnov.

The undisputed highlight of this year's static display was the Antonov An-124 Ruslan. Among the flying displays I'd single out the Saab JAS 37 Viggen and the Patrulla ASPA aerobatic team. We arrived right on time and inched forward in the queue towards the parking area. The organisers directed us using red flags onto the concrete apron near the JobAir hangar. The flying displays started around nine in the morning. The programme dragged somewhat... which is caused by the overlap between aerial and ground dynamic displays. The weather wasn't ideal — no rain, but a grey blanket of cloud isn't exactly great for photography. Especially when the sun peeks out now and then and you're constantly adjusting settings to match the light conditions.

I'm happy with the photos — though I need more practice panning with my AF-D 80-200 f/2.8 ED. The photos are sharp, but I slightly blur them with a wrong movement when tracking a fast-moving fighter jet... Part of the blame goes to the shooting position — as every year, we were right on the edge of the display line. The clear downside was the departure. I didn't expect it could be worse than previous years — I was sorely wrong. In an hour and a half we covered barely 500 metres. All thanks to the amateurish traffic management and the "courtesy" of other drivers! If they'd used the same red flags to organise the exit instead of just standing around watching, it would certainly have been better. Not much you can do about other drivers' manners — it's a reflection of society.

Which brings me to the question of whether I'll go back to Mošnov next year... maybe only for some truly renowned aerobatic team or display act, and then straight out!
