The oldest trolleybus depot didn't escape my notice
First impression: it's incredibly small! We had the chance to ride through the depot in a partial (electric mode only) trolleybus going through the wash. Which is quite an experience. It's like a car wash but bigger. The ride itself only reinforced how small the depot feels.
I tried fitting the pole onto the overhead wire. It's not exactly straightforward — I believe with a bit of practice it would get easier. The overhead wiring itself was interesting too: the switches and crossings. From the ground a traction wire looks like a thread — it isn't, it's a proper wire.
I rode back into town in a Škoda 706 RO in the trailer, which was quite a ride. A bit bouncy, but a fairly pleasant experience. Setting aside the absence of air conditioning — the windows only opened a little. Which turned the trailer into a sauna.
I'm looking forward to 31 August 2019, when Brno will be celebrating 150 years of public transport.
