The Moravian Autumn festival opened with the Czech Philharmonic conducted by Jiří Bělohlávek, with Josef Špaček as concertmaster.

The programme included Pohádka, The Wandering of a Little Soul, and Slavonic Dances. A surprise for some was the national anthem at the start. I have to say, hearing it performed by a full orchestra is something else compared to a recording. It was a wonderful concert — the philharmonic and concertmaster put on a brilliant performance, and the audience responded during the curtain calls with cries of "Bravo! Bravo!"
