Another trip to the land of cheese, tulips, and speed skating

Arrival

Our flight was significantly delayed — the previous flight (KL1845) had technical problems that then cascaded onto ours. The train running right through the terminal building is a brilliant thing; rail connections to the entire country are just a few steps away.

Atmosphere

Utrecht is a whole order calmer than Amsterdam. It's a university city full of narrow streets and canals. The morning view from the hotel window, situated opposite a church, was stunning!

On the hotel reservation

Keep an eye on how long the hotel holds your room. We found out the hard way that our room had only been reserved until 16:00. If you show up for check-in at 19:00 you can't really be surprised the room is no longer available…
