It wasn't the first time and certainly won't be the last.

The courier rang the bell, shoved a "we missed you" slip into the letterbox, and left — all before I made it to the door… I wasn't exactly pleased, so I filed an official complaint. Imagine my surprise when an envelope with a response to my complaint arrived from the post office.

Although the investigation did not confirm that a proper delivery attempt for the Parcel to Hand was not made, we are treating your submission with the utmost seriousness. The parcel courier has been firmly reminded of the necessity of providing postal services at the required quality, including waiting for a reasonable time for the addressee to respond. The quality of their work will continue to be monitored with heightened attention.

Dear Mr Šrámek, we deeply regret your negative experience with the postal service provided. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I just hope the courier didn't take it personally and that the next parcel arrives in one piece.
