Packing for multiple days into my Manfrotto OffRoad Hiker 30L is no joke.

I started looking for lighter and more packable clothing. First on the list was trousers. Until now my go-to were Rejoice — specifically Fat Moth, a classic. Cotton, robust, but fairly heavy trousers. When you get wet, it's warm, you have to lift your legs a lot, you're climbing ladders… it's not comfortable. I started looking for something to replace them — I wanted something light and stretchy for hiking in Czech and Slovak hills and mountains. I didn't need a membrane. I tried quite a few cuts and materials and ended up with Tilak Crux — specifically the limited edition for Hanibal Sport.

I had a dilemma about whether to go for yellow — in the end the blue-and-black combination won out. They met my expectations completely and even slightly exceeded them. First and foremost they're incredibly light and stretchy — they feel like Tilak made them custom for me! If you get them wet it's no disaster. In light drizzle, droplets form on the surface and the material doesn't absorb a thing — it just runs off. In heavier rain you can manage fine and they dry very quickly. P.S. In the Czech, Moravian, and Silesian mountains you might spot the Czech Mountain Rescue Service wearing them.
