You'll end up at Czech Point anyway
I needed a criminal record extract for a security clearance. Given the epidemiological situation I wanted to use the Citizen Portal. You get the document straight away and can either print it or send it via data mailbox. I logged in (via mojeID), ticked which document I needed, and got it right back. The document was signed — but when I printed it there was nothing visible to indicate that. The signature could only be validated in a PDF viewer (Adobe Reader). Nobody had embedded it in the document itself. In good faith I handed it over for processing. A few days later I got a call that left me speechless — it wasn't enough.
So off to the post office. Waiting in the queue, signing the request form, printing the same document — which has a note on the back stating that the electronic version is word-for-word identical to the paper one. All of that for a flat 100 CZK.
So what exactly is the Citizen Portal for?! Digitisation of public administration is at a *** level. I might ask the Ministry of Justice's 106 hotline whether they'd like to add an electronic signature directly into the document...
