Why shooting at this focal length is so much better

My kit (and standard) lens for the Df is the special edition 50mm Nikkor. I loved that focal length on DX. No other lens gave me such great shots. But on the Df the 50mm isn't quite as brilliant. To be more precise — the image quality is wonderful. But the angle of view just doesn't do it for me. The 35mm, though — that's a different perspective. It's exactly what I want. On holiday in Menorca and Austria I tested it in many situations (city, landscape, close-up, wide shot). It delivered. I have a new standard lens!

It doesn't suffer from distortion, or if it does I can't notice it. The lens is genuinely small and light. The whole kit stays under a kilogram. The filter thread is the same diameter as the 50mm I already mentioned. And the price is very reasonable — the value for money is excellent. The only minor downside is the maximum aperture, which is only f/2. Though that doesn't bother me much knowing how far I can push the ISO.
