notes from a PCF client stay

D-1 Packing my things — there's really a lot of it... And I'm still missing a diving board, which we didn't have the budget for anymore. I finished the cipher device and prepared everything else I'll need.

D0 It's Sunday and we're packing. We'll make two trips, the car is full of equipment and gear. The stay kicks off with dinner, right now it's 11:00. The day will be long still... It was. I went to bed just before midnight.

D1 Even before the morning workout I wanted to dunk from the basket... the rim was slippery and I wiped out onto the grass and the curb. I got a scraped ankle and slightly dirty Rejoice shoes for my trouble. It's overcast... hopefully it'll break up. It didn't — it drizzled all day. In the evening we had a great time playing Activity 2 and went to bed after a midnight swim.

D2 The morning was unusual — the sun was shining. I finally got to pull out the camera and take a few shots. It showered a couple of times during the day but nothing like the day before. The evening was all about pétanque and photography.

D3 Even though we had free time we couldn't spend it ideally thanks to the blanket of clouds. Despite studying up on javelin throwing technique I'm still wrestling with the form... In the evening we had quite a few laughs over a pipe while photographing "smoke rings."

D4 Today's morning workout started with pretty low turnout... Even with a lecture starting at 9:30 we had more than half the course participants. We wrapped up the day with a swim at 3:00 AM.

D5 Today's morning workout started with even lower turnout... the weather wasn't great all day... even so we managed to light a fire and have a campfire. Same as the day before we went to the pool, this time around 1:00 AM — with the difference that swimwear wasn't required :-)

D6 No morning workout today — the courses wrapped up and we took a group photo. Time to get things ready for packing... In the evening we drove part of the stuff back to Brno and boldly planned to get everything else into the car in one go the next day. In the evening everyone went to the nearby pub — the route back is always interesting given the steep hill you have to climb/drive up. Some people were hanging off the back of an electric cart and from personal experience I can say that's quite a ride.

D7 No morning workout waiting for us, just hunting for missing items and loading the car. We were the last ones to leave. Before we did I managed to wipe out again when the fingers of my right hand couldn't hold my body on the rim. And with that my notes from the Březejc 2011 stay come to an end.
