Hard to find the right words without resorting to swearing. But I'll try. Travelling as a student from Brno towards Bohumín is for the brave only. Single track between Brno and Přerov, delays are basically routine. As if that weren't enough, until recently only half the trains from Brno stopped at Hranice na Moravě. Now they all do, but the connections towards Vsetín/Horní Lideč got worse. Not to mention the connections in Kojetín towards Valašské Meziříčí. In ČD's defense — regional trains are ordered by the regional authority.

It was a Thursday. Fresh after graduation, I was travelling home with my girlfriend on the 17:02. We picked up a delay right in Brno — waiting for cyclists from another train — about 8 minutes. By Hranice na Moravě we'd accumulated nearly 15 minutes. Normally the regional train there wouldn't wait — it never had in four years. But as we stood by the doors approaching Hranice station, I spotted the rear lights. The train hadn't left. Impossible! We couldn't believe it. That wait cost the regional train 10 minutes of its own delay. Which is still better than my previous experience, when a train literally left right in front of me. And we were only about 1 minute late. The most depressing ČD experience ever.
