I got the chance to take the ENSA training from EC-Council.

The focus makes it more suited for administrators, as the name suggests: Network Security Administrator — though it serves well for people leaning more towards security too. The first big surprise was the box of materials. It weighed about 5 kg and contains around 2000 pages split across five books. A DVD with tools and materials is included as well. We covered everything from physical security all the way up to the application layer. Social aspects were touched on too. Everything was tried out on prepared machines. A slight disappointment is the course's heavier focus on Windows — specifically, everything in the lab was done on that platform. Which makes sense in a way, but some detection tools and web servers run on Linux. I can definitely recommend the course to anyone who wants to take their network security a step or two further.
