Concert at Špilberk

The moment I noticed that Melody Makers would be playing as part of the summer concerts at Špilberk castle, I didn't hesitate for a second. It had been a long time since I'd been to an open-air concert — I didn't expect the breaks for passing trains, but it was the first time at the castle. The atmosphere was something else compared to a regular concert.

Part of the audience came in period dress (meaning 1930s fashion). Others opted for comfort and warmth (the concert was in the evening) and didn't bother with formal attire. The music was amazing, and the evening's host — Ondřej Havelka — was no less brilliant; his tasteful humour completed the wonderful atmosphere. What I was looking forward to the most was Bugatti Step. It was indescribably better than any other performance of that piece I've ever heard.
