I'm not a die-hard fan of one OS or another.

I use Windows, Linux, and occasionally macOS. So what led me to the thought that I'd never buy anything with a bitten apple logo? Two things. An article about a disassembled Apple laptop with a Retina display, and a repair job at work. When a laptop (or any electronic device) gets contaminated with water, you need to switch it off and remove the battery as fast as possible to prevent oxidation and permanent damage.

But how are you supposed to remove the battery when non-standard screws are used (three-point instead of four), and some components are glued in? I'm not claiming that kind of thing can always be fixed at home. With a bit of luck perhaps, but a computer service shop should be able to help. How can they when components are fixed in permanently… and they're reluctant to take it apart.
