I was looking forward to this film. The Dark Knight set the bar pretty high in my opinion… and what I saw surprised me — negatively. It only hit me at the very end — it was a trailer! A two-and-a-half-hour, mind-numbing trailer for Justice League. And I suffered through every minute of it.
For starters, it's really a Superman film — Batman could have been swapped out for any other… clown. I'm not afraid to say it, because this wasn't Batman. Not even close to the character we know from The Dark Knight. The plot was nowhere to be found — or more accurately, it was never there to begin with, and neither was any humour. Critics praise the political subtext, but if the film doesn't pull you in…
Some criticize it for being too dark. Either our cinema had the lights on, or I just didn't feel it. Not even during Batman's nightmare and… well, I wasn't even scared. The music was from Superman but didn't pull me into the story — except for one track. Disappointing.
P.S. I'll still go see Wonder Woman.
